The project focuses on promoting European integration and promoting intercultural exchange. Participants will work on connecting local vocational schools in Saxony-Anhalt with companies abroad to create new internship opportunities.

The project will involve practical tasks, team-building exercises, and direct engagement with schools and local communities.
Volunteers will be accommodated in shared rooms with generally four people (towels and sheets are provided) at the European Youth Educational Centre Magdeburg. Since our facilities can also be booked by outside groups, the living arrangements can be subject to change due to bookings by outside groups. The volunteers will be provided with food to prepare meals with the group (unless meals are provided by the organisation) as well as 7€ pocket money per day.

Travel costs will be reimbursed based on the distance from the participant's home to the project location in Magdeburg, following Erasmus+ guidelines:
100 - 499 km: | 180 € per participant (in case of green travel: 210 €) |
500 - 1,999 km: | 275 € per participant (in case of green travel: 320 €) |
2,000 - 2,999 km: | 360 € per participant (in case of green travel: 410 €) |
3,000 - 3,999 km: | 530 € per participant (in case or green travel: 610 €) |

Green Travel: Travel that use low-emissions means of transport for the main part of the travel, such as bus, train, bike or car-pooling. Please check the Eramus+ Programme Guide for further information.

From 30 August to 1 September 2024, it was once again time for the Saxony-Anhalt Day, which attracted thousands to the Hanseatic city of Stendal, and we from the EJBM were right in the middle of it! We had our stand at the ‘Weltoffenes Sachsen-Anhalt’ festival grounds and a very special highlight in tow: our ‘Living Library’.

Participation in an international youth exchange at the European Youth Education Center Magdeburg is free of charge. Accommodation in shared rooms and full board are included. Underage participants are supervised by their team leaders or pedagogical staff of the EJBM.

The learning will be facilitated through ice-breaking activities, workshops on regional history, guided excursions (including visits to the Landtag and memorial sites), discussions with eyewitnesses, and language animation sessions.

Throughout the exchange, participants will engage in various activities, including initial ice-breakers, a workshop on the history of both regions, excursions to the Landtag and the Marienborn memorial site, discussions with local representatives, and cultural exchange throughout language animations.
Participants do not incur any travel costs due to group travel.
Youth exchanges are dynamic programs that bring together young people from different countries to share experiences, ideas, and cultures. Through these exchanges, participants engage in various activities, workshops, and projects that promote cross-cultural understanding, personal growth, and the development of essential life skills.

The EJBM regularly offers various international youth exchanges in Magdeburg with different topics and learning objectives.
Youth Exchanges at EJBMAfter months of preparation, planning and organization, "Ottopia - The European Children's City Magdeburg" started today. Organized and carried out by the European Youth Education Centre Magdeburg (EJBM), more than 110 young people will meet as part of the large-scale educational project.
Since July 12, 50 children and young people from a dance group from Kharkiv have been guests at the European Youth Education Center Magdeburg (EJBM). As part of the “One Week of Peace” project, an initiative of the EJBM and the Diocese of Magdeburg's Partnership Action East, the young guests are experiencing a week full of light-heartedness and normality far away from the war in their home country.
